Giles Bartlett, 74 years old, died at his home near West Union, Monday afternoon, at 5 o'clock. He had not been well for some time, but had been working Monday. As he was going to the house his daughter saw him fall and by the time she reached him he was dead.
He is survived by the wife, three daughters, Mrs. Edgar Williams of West Union, Miss Francis Bartlett of Stockton, Calif., and Miss Ona Bartlett at home; also three sons, Claude Bartlett of Montana, True Bartlett of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Allen Bartlett of West Frankfort, Ill. A brother, George Bartlett and a sister, Miss Sarah Bartlett, both of Melrose, also survive.
No funeral arrangement will be made until the daughters and sons arrive.

Giles Edgar Bartlett, son of Ebenezer and Malinda Bartlett, was born Feb. 19, 1853, and died quite suddenly of heart failure, April 25, 1927, aged 74 years, 2 months and 6 days.
He was united in marriage to Rowena Gard, January 12, 1881. To them were born 8 children, Claude of Billings, Mont.; Allen of West Frankfort, Ill; True of Sapulpa, Okla.; Mrs. Flossie Williams of West Union; Cleona at home; and Francis of Stockton, Calif. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mattie, who died in infancy and one son, Arthur, who died in February, 1926.
He is survived by the wife, six children, four grandchildren, one sister, Sarah of West Union, and two brothers, George of Wet Union, and Charles of Idaho.
