Funeral services were held September 21 in the Maeser First Ward Chapel honoring Isaac Allen Jones, who died September 18, 1976 in St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Prayer at the mortuary was offered by Darrell Jones; prelude and postlude misic was played by Ruth Jones. The first musical, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives", was a violin solo by Kathi Strawn. Invocation was by Lloyd Fergerson. Remarks were given by John Jones, first counselor, who also officiated at the services. The first speaker, Roger Hacking, was followed by a musical "Whispering Hope" by Daun White and Dorothy Peltier, accompanied by Melba Eaton. The concluding speaker, Harvey McKee, was followed by Gerald Caldwell singing "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by Elzada Evans. Debra Jones gave the poem "I'll Never Pass This Way Again", to conclude the services. Benediction by Bishop Elmer Lind.
Dedication of the grave was by Ivan Hall. Pallbearers were Mike Haber and Clay Haber, grandsons, Frank Brower and Joseph Weyerman, Marley Wilson and Harold Weyerman. Honorary pallbearers were the High Priest Group of Maeser First Ward.
Burial was in the Maeser cemetery under the direction of the Vernal Mortuary. The lunch and flowers were under the direction of Maeser First Ward Relief Society.
Mr. Jones was born December 16, 1897 in Vernal to Isaac Morley Jones and Elizabeth Starkie Jones. He married Aleatha Evans Dansie December 24, 1941 in Vernal. Their marrage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, May 26, 1943. He was a farmer, a member of the Maeser 1st Ward, served as high priest and home teacher in the Sunday School.
His interest in antiques was shown in his wide collection ranging from farm machinery to kitchen stoves. He enjoyed music and played several instruments, was a member of the Kithen Band at the Golden Age Center and was an active member of the Uintah's Club. He served as a Friendly Visitor since the program was begun.
Survivors are widow of Vernal; two sons, Floyd Allen Jones, Salt Lake City; Darrell Dansie Jones, Vernal; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-step-grandchildren; four brothers, Morley, Salt Lake City; Albert, Price; Warren, Fountain Green; Howard, Richfield; four sisters, Lucy Wilson, St. George; Mazie Wilson, St. George; Mable Bartlett, Salt Lake City, Olive Weyerman, Weston, Idaho.
