ALVA THRELKELD, LINNSBURG, DIES
RITES FOR SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD YOUTH TO BE HELD AT MACE THURSDAY
Linnsburg, Jan. 23.---Alva Threlkeld, 16, expired at 2:10 p. m. today at the home of his parents here following an illness of five and a half months with a complication of
diseases.
Born in Montgomery county, Sept. 5, 1922, he was a son of Alva C. and Audie May Shirley Threlkeld.
He attended the Dover school and was graduated from the eighth grade last spring but was unable to return to school in the fall.
Surviving are four brothers, Russell, William, Henry and Donald Threlkeld, all at home; three half-brothers, Oren, Lester, and Louis Threlkeld, all of Indianapolis, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Cory and Mrs. Loretta Cory, both of Lebanon, and Mrs. Laura Dalton, New Castle.
Funeral services will be held at the Mace Mehodist (sic) church at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Mr. Alfred of Mace and Rev. Grant M. Barton of Crawfordsville officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah cemetery.

Based on family input, he attended Dover school while living with his aunt, Stella (Cogle) Threlkeld in Jefferson Twp., Boone County IN. Of the three half-brothers, Louis and Oren used the surname of their step-father, Kennedy.
