Henry Deward Ayers Sr. was born Aug. 14, 1912, in Kaufman. He was a member of Peoples Baptist Church. Henry retired from Bell Helicopter after 26 years. Mr. Ayers had been a resident of Fort Worth since 1942 and previously lived and worked at Santa Rosa Ranch in Vernon.
Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Beatrice Ayers of Hurst; son, H.D. Ayers Jr. and wife, Donna of Hurst; daughters, Brenda Smith and husband, Don of Sherman and Nancy Robinson and husband, Winfred of Frisco; sister, Bessie Skinner of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
