Services for Brenda Carol Smith, 80, of Sherman who passed away peacefully at her home on October 3, 2022, surrounded by her family, will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
Brenda, was born in Vernon, Texas, on February 15, 1942, the child of Henry and Beatrice Ayers. She graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1960. She attended North Texas State University and graduated in 1964 with a degree in English. She married her husband, Donald Smith on October 8, 1966 and they were happily married for 56 years. They had 2 children, Lori and Michael. She also had 2 grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jeremy, and 5 great grandchildren.
Brenda loved children. She taught toddlers Sunday School at her church for years and also ran a daycare at her home for the neighborhood children. She still receives Christmas cards from the parents of the children whom she took care of. She loved playing hymns on her piano and she loved her Lord, Jesus Christ. She took care of her family and everybody she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her little sister, Nancy Robinson. She is survived by her husband, Donald Smith of Sherman; daughter Lori Cripe and husband Robert of Sherman; son, Michael Smith of Sherman; brother, H.D. Ayers and wife Donna of Hurst, Texas; brother in law, Winfred Robinson of Frisco, Texas; her grandchildren and her great grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
