Services will be Saturday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home for Fern Blackstone, 81, a former resident of the Olive Hill Community. She died Tuesday.

She was born Oct. 17, 1912, in Jewell County's Harrison Township, the daughter of Clarence Milton and Amy Lena Roe Hower, a 1929 graduate of Superior High School. Mrs. Blackstone had been a resident at the Stoneybrook Retirement Community, Manhattan, the past three years.

A member of the Olive Hill Church, she had a strong faith in the Lord, which she shared with others. She enjoyed family, friends and gardening.

On Sept. 25, 1933, in Mankato, she was married to Harry Orval Blackstone. He preceded her in death in March, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Everett Hower.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charles Seamans (Marilyn), Dallas, Ore., Mrs. Corwin Seamans (Ruth), Wamego; and one son, Jerry Blackstone, Ypsilanti, Mich.; one brother, Ralph Hower, Nampa, Idaho; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.
