Attack Fatal to E. K. Wamsley; Services Today
Services were at 2 p.m. today at the H. Brown and Son Funeral Home in Warren for Everett K. Wamsley, 78, who died suddenly of a heart attack at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at his home on Poneto Route 1.
Becoming ill while working in the barn at his Chester Twp. farm, Mr. Wamsley drove his truck to his residence, where he called his wife for help. When she returned with medicine she found him dead. The Warren EMS unit was summoned and brought him to Clinic Hospital. The Wells County coroner's office investigated.
A resident at the same farm since 1942, Mr. Wamsley formerly lived in Huntington County and was engaged in farming.
Born Oct. 2, 1900 in Lancaster Twp., Huntington County, he was a son of Laban and Elizabeth McDaniel Wamsley. His marriage to Velma Catherine White, who survives, took place Dec. 23, 1922 in Wells County.
In addition to the wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Betty) Stucky of Napoleon, O., and Mrs. Harry (Lois) Brown of Hartford City; two sons, Bob Wamsley of Monticello and Tom Wamsley of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Boxell of Warren and Mrs. Harry (Helen) Martin of Logansport, 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Rev. David Terhune officiated at the rites and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery at Warren.
