Daughter of Richard Hamilton Polite and Nancy Brewington Polite. Second wife of Solomon Fry. Letty had one surving daughter Sarah Isabel Fry Rankin. Letty died in child birth or shortly afterward giving birth to a son Alvey Fry who died in birth or within days of being born.

Letty does have alternate birth/death dates. It is possible that her and Alvey's death could have been in/near Hancock County, Illinois where the family resided in the 1860 Census.

It is likely that "Letty" is buried here at Saint Mary's since a number of her siblings are buried here as well. There is a notation that she died at Macomb, in the next county of McDonough but yet unconfirmed. The 1863 Military Registration has Solomon Fry single living at St. Mary, Hancock County, Illinois.

The Polite's moved to Linn County, Kansas and Bates County, Missouri (adjacent counties/state line) with much of the family following them.
