Based on the 1890 - 91 Springfield City Directory and Greene County Gazetteer and 1896 Map of Springfield MO by Ozarks Genealogical Soc, Greene Co Archives and Records Center, Robert D Dillard lived on 80 acres in Section 10, Washington Twp. [p. 326, "Dillard R D, sec 10 Washington 80 a, p o Henderson"]
Robert D. Dillard's parents were William F. Dillard and Sarah Gregory, both early pioneers who came to Greene County Missouri in the 1830s. Willam F was a War of 1812 veteran. Click on the link (click on his name below)

Robert's greatfather (my 4th Great Grandfather) was John Dillard born in Viginia in about 1760 and was a veteran of the Revolutionary War. See the link (click on his name):
John DILLARD
He was often called "Rabun" John Dillard because he helped establish Rabun Co., Georgia in the early 1800s.
"Rabun" John and his wife Ruth VAUGHN had seven children.
In the late 1700s they lived on a large farm near what is present day Asheville, North Carolina.
