Wilber Junior Barton of Fredericktown, Missouri,passed from this life Sunday afternoon Noverber 8,2009. He was at home visiting with family and friends when his call suddenly came. Junior was 80 years old and had been priviledged to go to lots of places and do a lot of things.
He was born April 28, 1928 in Buick, Missouri, a son of Wilber Junior Sr. and Artie Alice(Smith Barton). His mother often told of the snow they had on the day he was born and in telling Junior like to say "and I remember it well".
Junior could do just about anything and he gave every job 100 percent of himself.
Farming was is favorite occupation and he mentioned not long ago that he might get some "feeder calves" when he got to feeling better.
He also liked to ride and visit people and places; and he never met a stranger. In fact, after talking awhile it was ofen revealed that he had just met another one of his kinfolk.
Horses ,cowboy hats, dumplings and coconut cream pie were important to Junior, but most of all was his love for his Savior and his appreciation for the blessings he showered opon him all throughout his life.
Junior is survived by his dear fried Jennie Whitmer of Fredricktown; 5 childeren Danny and Brenda Barton, Viburnum Missouri, Shirley Casey, Sealy Texas, Willie and Shirley Barton, Marquand Missouri, Diane Marquez, Houston Texas, Mark Barton, Viburnum Missouri and their mother Hazel Clark, Houston Texas; 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and 2 great- great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters, Ezra and Kathy, Troy Missouri, Ray and Rosemary, Oates, Missouri, Ralph and Bonnie, Oates Missouri, Linda and Dane Hauck, O'Fallon Missouri, Roger and Theresa Bonne Terre, Missouri, Barbara & Jimmy Mathes, Oates Missouri, Daniel,Viburnum Missouri and Rodney & Barbara, Bonne Terre Missouri
He is also survived by his extended family (on Jennies side): Debbie & Larry Brunk,Fredericktown, Freddy & Cindy Whitmer,Springfield Missouri; 2 granchildren and 1 great-grandchild,to whom Junior was "Pa Pa". Junior has many cousins,nieces,nephews and friends left to miss him and remember all the good times shared.
His parents,1 brother Flash Barton,1 sister Burtafay Johnson and one infant great-grandchild, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm., on Tuesday, Noverber 10, 2009, at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am. on Wednesday November 11,2009 at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Hutcheson and Bro. Lee Smith Officiating.
Graveside Services will be at 3:00 pm. On Wednesday November 11,2009 at Smith Cemetery near Oates Missouri.
