Bowie- Ruby Heinze passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in Lantana, Texas at the age of 86. She had lived in the Lewisville area for the past 5 years and prior to moving to Lewisville, Ruby lived in Bowie, Texas since 1949.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with Merwin Turner and Scott Melton officiating.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Friday from 6 til' 8 p.m. at the White Family Funeral Home.
Ruby was born on July 24, 1923 south of Wilson, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ulysess and Della Alexander. She was the first daughter and sixth child of 10 children in her family. She married Rienhart Heinze on August 2, 1947 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Through this marriage, they had four children, Rosanne, Mollie, Sallie and Jim. Ruby's passion was her family, as she never missed an opportunity to have them together during holidays and birthdays. She was always quick to have one of the grandkids spend a night or weekend with her. She was always proud that her children and grandchildren relished the opportunity to get together and have fun with each other. She also enjoyed working in her yard, flower and vegetable gardens. She always had one of the best gardens on Sessions Street and loved sharing her famous pickles and delicious pecan pies with friends and family.
Ruby was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bowie for over forty years. As a member of the UMW she could always be found in the church kitchen. She was a past member of the Garden Club, Home Extension Club, and American Legion Auxillary. She was involved in her children's activities such as the PTA and band parents.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Rienhart in 1985 and brothers, Dawson, T.D., Clinton, Leary, Lavoie, Lawrence and Ken.
She is survived by her children, Rosanne Hall and husband, John of Kosse, Texas, Mollie Clemson and husband, Allen of Arlington, Sallie Corbitt and husband, Dan of Highland Village, and Jim Heinze and wife, Dana of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Lindsey Arviso and husband, Kris of Atlanta, Georgia, Cara Jaggers and husband, Jarod of Dallas, Andy Corbitt and wife, Sarah of Dallas, Katie Corbitt of Norman, Oklahoma, Hayley Corbitt of Norman, Oklahoma, Katherine Heinze of Norman, Oklahoma, Alexandria Heinze of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jason Hall and wife, Amber of Cleburne, and Jamie Generals and husband, Jimmy of Waco; four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, R.L. and Glenna Alexander of Whitesboro; sister and brother-in-law, Naomi and Donald Copeland of Branson, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and Roxanne Wilson and her sister, Marianne Henman, who cared for her during the time she lived in Lewisville.
