Whitesboro- Funeral Services or Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Alexander, 86, formerly of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wed. July 8, 2015 at the North Union Church of Christ of Whitesboro, TX with Mike Bentley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery of Ardmore. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Bob was born February 12, 1929 at Hewitt, OK to the late Mr. Ulysses Roscoe Alexander and Mrs. Della Orene (Roberts) Alexander. He departed this life on Thursday July 2, 2015 at Sherman, TX.
Bob was raised at Hewitt and Wilson graduating from Wilson High School in 1947. After attending college at Murray State in Tishomingo for one year he entered into the United States Air Force on Sept. 2, 1950. He served four years at Shepherd Air Force Base and was honorably discharged on Sept. 21, 1954. He returned to college attending Oklahoma University where he graduated in 1957 with his Petroleum Engineering degree. He immediately began a career with Chevron, formerly Standard Oil of Texas and California, where he was employed in production. Bob retired from Chevron after 33 ½ years of employment. During his time at Chevron he served as manager of the Western Region Drilling and Production. He was responsible for developing and held several patents with Chevron. Bob and the former Glenna M. Williams have shared 62 wonderful years together residing in numerous US cities. He and Glenna have been residents of Whitesboro, TX since 1991 where they enjoyed attending North Union Church of Christ. Bob was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers , American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers and a lifetime member of the Oklahoma University Alumni Association.
Preceding him in death were his Parents; Son, Richard Alexander – March 15, 2003; Sister, Ruby Heinze; 7 Brothers, Dawson, T.D., Clint, Leary, Lavoie, Lawrence and Kenneth Alexander.
Survivors include his loving wife Mrs. Glenna M. (Williams) Alexander of the home; Sons, Geary Alexander of Spring, TX and Glen Alexander also of Spring, TX; Sister, Naomi Copeland and husband Donald of Branson, MO; Daughter in law, Gayla Alexander of Broken Arrow; Grandchildren, Evynn, Josiah and Jeremy; numerous other relatives and friends.
Casket Bearers are family and friends.
