Born Jan. 11, 1945, in the Number Nine Community, he was the son of Criss and Cricket Wolford Burse. He was preceded in death by two brothers, C.L. and Allen Burse, and one sister, Shirley VanDevender.
He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Jennings Missionary Baptist Church in Jennings.
Mr. Burse leaves five daughters: Linda Gonzales and her husband Abel, Amanda Burse and Ashley Burse, all of Jennings, Debbie Miller and her husband Carl of Madison, Fla., and Elizabeth Smith and her husband Alister, of New Zealand: Five brothers: Elvis Burse, Roy Burse and Danny Burse, all of Steele, Billy Burse of Holland, Mo., and Chris Burse of Obion, Tenn.; Two sisters: June Woods and Christine Moore, both of Steele; and Three grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Burse will be held at 1 p.m., today, Thursday, July 22, 2004, at the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville, Ark., with the Rev. Mike Welch officiating.
Burial will be at the Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter, Mo., with Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge.
