Mercedes Wanda Odom, 90, of Eufaula, passed away, Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the St. Francis Hospital of Muskogee. Mercedes was born on September 1, 1930, in Pharoah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Barney and Juanita Louise (Dunbar) Hawkins. She attended Okmulgee High School. On September 24, 1949, Mercedes married Ray Odom. They were happily married for fifty-two years. Mercedes worked as an electronic technician for Alameda Naval Air Station. She enjoyed playing cards (Canasta) with friends and fishing. She was a loyal tribal member of Muscogee Creek Nation. Mercedes loved spending time with her grandchildren most of all.
Survivors include: her sons, Rusty Odom of Eufaula, Mark Odom of Okmulgee and Mike Odom of California; her grandchildren, Kimberly Odom Young, Stephanie Martinez, Donna Howard, Ashley Odom and Rebecca Odom; her great grandchildren, Brittani, Paige, Danny, Alyssa, Meghan, Eric, and Addison Rae; and her great great grandchildren, Aubree, Logan, Ayla and Levi. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Ray.
