Motor Machinist Mate Carl Henry Gerbensky, third class, father of Chester Gerbensky, Hartland, has been reported missing in action. Formerly a member of the Wisconsin National Guard, Company L, Oconamowoc, he received a medical discharge after a year's service. He enlisted in the army, and after receiving a medical discharge there enlisted in the navy, where he was serving when declared missing. (Waukesha Freeman August 2 1944) Notes from Randy Carl enlisted in the Army with his son Chester in 1940, and was given an honorable discharge when he reached the age limit for service.
