Charlene Carruth resided near Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Monday, November 9, 2009, at the Paris Health & Rehab Center in Paris. She was born January 24, 1935 in Cleveland, Mississippi to the late Smith Williams and Lena Mae (Morgan) Williams. She was 74 years old.

Ms. Carruth was a retired secretary for A.B.F. in Fort Smith, enjoyed camping with her family and friends, served on the Home Bound Ministry and member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith.


Ms. Carruth is survived by her husband, Wendell Carruth, of the home; two daughters, Deanna Redden & husband Kyle of Cleveland, Mississippi and Karen Davis & husband Heath of Charleston; six grandchildren, Kortnee & Kelsee Redden, Tara & Jamie Childers, and Tyler & Tiffany Davis.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. Rev. Dale Thompson and Rev. Mark Weaver officiated the services. Burial will be at Carruth Cemetery, east of Lavaca on Hwy. 96, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
Pall Bearers will be members of the Tom Gray Sunday School Class, Noel Hobson, Jim Baxter, Tom Gray, Herb Davis, Bill Martin, and Leon Bartlett.
