Orangeburg - Charles Wesley Austin Sr., 82, died at 10 a.m. Thursday at his home in Charleston Road. He had been in declining health for several years. Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ted E. Jones officiating, assisted by Rev. W. W. Lancaster and the Rev. L. W. Smith. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Austin was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late John Wesley and Mamie Bozard Austin and was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Jessie Cherry Austin of Orangeburg; three sons, Eddie L. Austin, W. D. Austin and C. W. Austin Jr., all of Orangeburg; five daughters, Mrs. E. J. (Louise) Ayers, Mrs. Harold (Marie) Davis, Mrs. Chester (Addie Lee) Sain and Mrs. Pat (Mary Lou) Kelly, all of Orangeburg, and Mrs. D. L. (Gracie) LaCombe of Tampa, Fla., one brother, Ben Tillman Austin Sr. of Bowman; two sisters, Mrs. Joohn Patrick of Bowman and Mrs. B. B. Haigler of Columbia; 13 grandchildren, and fie great grandchildren.
