Born December 4, 1898 in Tupelo, Oklahoma (Indian Territory), he came to Wagoner, Oklahoma in 1924 from Clarita, Oklahoma. He had owned and operated the Rushing Service Station here for the past 35 years.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Hersman Funeral Home of Wagoner.
Survivors are his wife, Viola (Hickman) Rushing of the home; a son, Leo Russell Rushing of Stigler, Oklahoma; a daughter, Mrs. Iwannah Hendrix of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one brother, Raymond Rushing of El Reno, Oklahoma; and 6 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Barnett, Dwight Blankenship, Dr. Robert Collins, Woodrow Floyd, Nelson Heflin and Mack McCary.
