Junior was born September 12, 1939 in Mesa, Arizona, the son of Charles Oliver and Edna Lee (Cay) Hill. He attended school in Pawhuska, later procuring his GED. He attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, where he earned his Associates Degree. Junior then went on to Northeastern State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He was a member of Pi Gamma Alu, an International Honor Society in Social Sciences. Junior also helped with the founding of the "Lighthouse" mission in Bartlesville.He worked throughout the area with various organizations in helping troubled juveniles, alcoholics and drug addicts. Without a doubt, Junior's proudest moment was being ordained as a minister on March 16, 1984.
Surviving family include: His son: Douglas Oliver Hill of Sand Springs; His daughter: Deborah Darling Vukic of Tulsa; Two sisters: Elizabeth May "Betty" Glenn of Pawhuska; Glenda Marie Rogers and husband, Cotton, all of Pawhuska; His grandchildren: Douglas Franklin Hill of Sand Springs; Amber May Valentine and Mady Jane Scrapper, both of Tulsa; Great grandchildren: Sara Elizabeth Valentine and Jacob Lee Valentine, both of Tulsa; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends. Junior was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marjorie Ann Miller; a brother, Calvin "Sonny" Hill; and a niece, Sharon Brinkman.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 10, at 2:00 PM at the Church of God, 9th and Ruble, Pawhuska. Rev. Pat Hailey will officiate. Interment will be in the A.J. Powell Cemetery, Hominy.
