ERNEST IPSEN MUNK, farmer and member of the City Council, son of Christian and Anna, M., was born in Manti February 20, 1858. The family are among the early settlers oft Manti. When Ernest grew up to manhood he worked on the railroads and in mining camps for some time. He later owned seventy acres of land and was engaged in farming. He had always taken an active part in Mormon church matters and served as first counselor in the Elders' Quorum. In 1890 he was elected a member of the City Council and again in 1897, being a strong Democrat and representative citizen. Was married in Salt Lake City October 26, 1882, to Petrena, daughter of Nels P. and Elsie C. Domgaard, born in Manti May 19, 1859.
