Charles Albert Headdy was the son of Thomas Headdy and Mildred Ellen Figg Headdy.

He married Rosa Belle Litten on 29 Sept 1889 and to this union were born six children: Elsie Mae Headdy, Inez Headdy, Roy C. Headdy, William Dale Headdy, Charles Dean Headdy, and Paul Baxter Headdy.

Charles was a pharmacist in Ellettsville until 1910 when he moved with his family to Chalmers, Indiana to be a pharmacist at Donaldson Drug Store in Chalmers.

DEATH CHARLES A. HEADDY

Charles A. Headdy, 56 years old, a highly respected resident of Chalmers, died at 8:20 o'clock, on Monday evening at the family home. He had been ill for a year and last summer was a patient in St. Elizabeth Hospital, at Lafayette, for several weeks. His condition had been critical for two months.

He was born September 12th, 1868, on a farm in Monroe County. He grew to manhood there and on September 29th, 1889, was married to Rose B. Litten, of Ellettsville, to which union six children were born.

The family lived in Ellettsville until 14 years ago, and then removed to Chalmers. He was a pharmacist and was employed at Donaldson Drug Store. He was a member of the Ellettsville Baptist church, also the I.O.O.F. lodge at Chalmers.

Mr. Headdy was widely known and had many friends. Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Elliott, of Ellettsville; four sons, Roy, Dale, Dan, and Paul, of Chalmers; seven grandchildren; his aged father, Thomas Headdy; one sister, Mrs. Riley May; and three brothers, Homer, Dallas, and William Headdy, all of Ellettsville. One daughter, Inez, departed this life ten years ago, at the age of eighteen.

Mr. Headdy was prepared to meet his Heavenly Father, "Who so loved the World, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life," and wished to be laid at rest by the side of his daughter Inez in Ellettsville.

The body of the deceased arrived here Wednesday evening and was taken to the home of his father, Thomas Headdy.

Funeral services were held this Thursday morning, in charge of Revs. Caldwell and Hooten. Burial is at the Methodist Cemetery.
