Elsie Thomas Obit - 11 March 1961

Mrs. Elsie Elliott Thomas, 69, a member of the Ellettsville Baptist Church for 52 years and a retired Indiana University employee, died 8:20 p.m., Thursday at her residence, 113 E. 15th St.

She is survived by her husband, Guy; four daughters, Mrs. Lorean Edwards of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Leota Terman of Bloomington, Mrs. Genell Kearney of Franklin, and Mrs. Erma Fox of Plainfield; four sons, Herman Elliott of Ellettsville, Lowell Elliott of R. 10, Bloomington, Paul Elliott of R. 1, Bloomington, and Charles Elliott of R. 1, Unionville; one step-son, Phillip Thomas of R. 7, Bloomington; four brothers, Roy Headdy of Monticello, Dale Headdy of South Bend, Dean Headdy of Chalmers and Paul Headdy of Terre Haute; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and three step-granddaughters.

One son, Winfred, and one daughter, Catherine, preceded her in death.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Ellettsville Baptist Church. The Rev. Milan Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Vahalla Memory Gardens.

Friends may call at the Greene and Harrell Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Saturday.
