Wilbert passed away at his home. He was the 3rd child of Herman Rippe and Laura (Lohaus) Rippe.
He was baptized nov. 2, 1920 at St. Paul (Hickory-Grove)Lutheran Church, rural Auburn, NE. He was confirmed Dec. 8, 1935 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church rural Johnson, NE.
He worked on the family farm. Joined the US Army Aug. 15, 1942 stationed in Hattiesburg, Miss. Washington DC and with the Combat Engineers in the Pacific Theatre and at discharge achieved rank of Tech Sergeant.
He married Sept. 14, 1943 to Lucille Gobber at St.James Church. They had 7 children.
He was discharged from the Army Jan. 16, 1946 and took up farming at Rural Elk Creek, Ne. He also was a carpenter.
His funeral servies were held July 4, 2006 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, rural Johnson, NE. Interment was in the church cemetery.
