Rev. Samuel Newell Robinson, third son of Rev. Ralph Robinson and Anna Weeks, b. Dec. 19, 1817 probably at Granville, Washington County, NY. He d. Apr. 18, 1889, Æ 72. Samuel wrote his will Nov. 9, 1880 at Glenwood, Erie County, NY and was probated May 27, 1889 by his widow and eldest son Albert Barnes Robinson at Franklinville, Cattaraugus County, NY in which Samuel is called "late of Conewango." He is otherwise interred in Buffalo, Erie County, NY (g.s.)

On June 14, 1844 at New York City, NY, Samuel m. Lucy Sartwell Jones, dau. of Rev. Henry Jones. She was b. at Waitsville, Washington County, VT Oct. 25, 1818 and d. at Buffalo, NY June 1, 1890, Æ 72.

In 1846-48, Samuel was pastor of the Congregational Church at Cabot, VT. At Cabot he was only 20-miles or so from Morrisville, VT where his paternal uncle, Rev. Septimius Robinson (1790-1860), was the longtime pastor of the Morrisville Congregational Church.

Samuel and wife Lucy were residing at Truxton south of Syracuse, NY in the June 1850 census; in June 1860 they were residing at Guilford in Chenango County, NY where he is listed as a Presbyterian minister; in June 1870 they were residing at Walton in Delaware County, NY; and in the June 1880 census were residing at Colden in Erie County, NY.

Samuel and wife Lucy had seven children, but only four are known to have married and left descendants:

• i. Harriett Newell Robinson, b. Apr. 17, 1845 at Williamstown, Oswego County, NY and was living in 1922 at Buffalo, NY with her unmarried dau. Jean R. McLachlan; m. in 1873, Rev. John McLachlan, who d. in 1903 at Binghamton and is interred at Buffalo, NY. Seven children of the family.

• ii. Rev. Albert Barnes Robinson, b. Dec. 16, 1846 at Cabot, Washington County, VT; was living with the family of his daughter Grace (Robinson) Billard at Islip, Long Island, NY in the April 1930 census. He m. the widow Ruth Eliza (Bronson) Cotes May 30, 1872 at Springfield, NY, dau. of Miles Bronson and Ruth Montague Lucas. She was b. Oct. 7, 1842 at Nowgong, India and d. at New York City Jan. 22, 1919, Æ 77. They had four children, but only two left descendants.

• iii. Rev. Francis Henry Robinson, b. Nov. 16, 1848 at Cabot, Washington County, VT; d. June 29, 1929 at Berkeley, Alameda County, CA. He m. Sept. 26, 1878 at San Francisco, CA, Margaret Isabell Brumley, dau. of Chester Rude Brumley and Margaret Humphrey. She was b. Oct. 31, 1851 either at Burtonville or Charlestown, NY and was living at Berkeley, CA in the April 1930 census. They had four children, the eldest b. at Wailuka, Hawaii and the rest in California.

• iv. Edward Weeks Robinson, b. Dec. 31, 1850 at Truxton, Cortland County, NY; d. in infancy July 3, 1851.

• v. Anna Lucy (alt. Lucy Anna) Robinson, b. Nov. 13, 1852 at Truxton, Cortland County, NY, d. July 29, 1939 at San Diego, CA (g.s.); m. Rev. Rufus Smith Green, DD b. Apr. 1, 1848 at Sidney, NY and d. June 3, 1925 in San Bernardino County, CA (g.s.). 5 children of the family.

• vi. William Alexander Robinson, b. Apr. 19, 1856 at Jefferson County, NY; d. in infancy Dec. 16, 1857.

• vii. Frederick Maxwell Robinson, b. May 17, 1858 at Jefferson County, NY; d. in infancy Sept. 11, 1858.
