Adam Van Otterloo a resident of Rock Valley all of his life passed away at his farm home nine miles northwest of Rock Valley on Saturday evening, Nov. 5, at the age of thirty-six years.
Mr. Van Otterloo suffered from a spinal infection caused by a boil on his arm which caused paralysis. He was ill for two weeks.
Adam Van Otterloo was born on a farm near Rock Valley on July 31, 1902. He grew to manhood here. He attended rural schools. His occupation was farming.
On January 26, 1926 Mr. Van Otterloo was united in marriage with Miss Gertrude Brower also of Rock Valley.
Adam Van Otterloo is survived by his wife and a small daughter, Hester, who is less than a year old. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Van Otterloo, sr. and six brothers, who are John. jr.. Henry and Herman of Rock Valley; Peter of Boyden and Leonard and Aaron of Le Mars, Ia. and four sisters, Misses Jennie, Tena, Alice and Agnes Van Otterloo all of Rock Valley.
One brother, Melvin, preceded him in death sixteen years ago.
Funeral services for Mr. Van Otterloo were held in the Christian Reformed church in Rock Valley on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The Rev. Mr. Henry J. Triesenburg was in charge of the services. Interment was made at the Valley View cemetery.
