Death of Solomon Lapp
By the death of Mr Solomon Lapp on Monday 29 August, we are again reminded that this is not our home. The deceased has been a lifelong resident of Adams Township and was nearly fifty seven years of age at the time of his death, In 1871 he was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Ganson to which union were born seven children, six sons and one daughter, who with the grief stricken wife are left to mourn the loss of an indulgent, husband and father. Having been a sufferer for years from complicated ailments, death came as a welcome messenger, to Mr Lapp who has borne this suffering in a manner becoming a Christian. On Wednesday a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends followed the remains to the Zion Church where after appropriate and impressive services by Rev H H Bachman, the remains were interred in the cemetery adjoining the church. The grief stricken family have the sympathy of the entire community in this hour of grief.
