Otto Bernell "Bernie" Taylor, 65, died on 3 July 2005 at his home in West Valley City, Utah, 2 days short of his 66th birthday.

He was the fifth child of 7 children, born 5 July 1939 in Aurora, Utah to and Wilford Otto and Ruby Althea Curtis Taylor.

He was married to Nona Mortensen on February 25, 1961 in Richfield, Utah and later divorced. Married to Ellen Butcher on February 27, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada and later divorced. He spent 29 years sharing life experiences with Edna Marie Wherle Ott. They traveled throughout Utah and California together as he worked on large construction projects. She died September 29, 2001.

He graduated from North Sevier High School in 1957. He entered the U.S. Army in 1962 and served for four years. He was employed by Alder Construction Co. where he retired in 2004.

As a carpenter, he was a very good and skilled craftsman and always early for work. He enjoyed all sports, especially watching the New York Yankees. He was a very good fisherman and loved the deer hunt. He was a very good marksman and his job classification in the service was that of a sniper. He was a very good baseball player and played centerfield for North Sevier and town teams after graduation.

Survived by his children: Tony Taylor, Kerry & Holly Taylor, Larin & Christa Taylor; 8 grandchildren; brother and sisters; Clifton F. Taylor, Boneta Hadden, Carol Daley, Varona Roberts and Loye Taylor-Hatch. Preceded in death by his parents, Edna Otto and sister LaVern T. Hatch.

Graveside services were held on Thursday July 7, 2005 at the Aurora Cemetery under the direction by Springer Turner Funeral Home, Richfield, Salina & Gunnison, Utah. Military Honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #56.
