They were the parents of John A, William A, Nancy M, James A, Emory W, and Jesse F. He married Malinda Burch on May 21, 1839 in White Co, IL. Their children were Richard, Abraham S, Louis, Eunice, Robert D, Ira M, and Mary A.
James was shot and killed while working in his garden.
Sons William A and Jesse F joined the 29th Illinois Inf in 1861 and died of disease in 1862 while serving the Union Army during the Civil War. Son, John A, received a disability discharge in Oct 1862 while serving in the 56th Illinois Inf. and died shortly after returning to White Co.
