Former Schulenburg Lady Dies in Houston

Miss Augusta Nordhausen, who lived at 25 Reisner Street, Houston, passed away last Sunday, May 5, 1940 at 11:50 o'clock, after an illness of about three months.
Miss "Gussie", as she was known to most of the Schulenburg people, was born at High Hill on July 17, 1883, as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Nordhausen. She made Schulenburg her home for several years, and about thirty years ago moved to Houston. For twelve years she was connected with the C.L. and Theo. Bering Company. Later she became a member of the Mathew Hardware Company and served in that capacity for eighteen years. She was active in church work and was a member of the First Church of Christ in Houston. Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Monday in Houston with F. Vaughn Wilbur officiating. The body was then shipped to Schulenburg by train. Services were held here on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with interment in the Old High Hill Cemetery, Rev. Hornung officiating. Eight of her nephews served as pallbearers; namely, Ferdinand, Henry, Perry and Leon Seeberger, Otto and Rheinhold Graf, Gail Price and Arno Nordhausen.
Surviving to mourn the loss of this good lady are four brothers, Rudolph, Charlie, Paul and Pete Nordhuasen, all of Schulenburg; one sister, Mrs. A. Seeberger of Houston and a large number of niece and nephews.
