WILLIAM CARL KLAGES
William Carl Klages, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Klages, was born in Marion county, Iowa, Oct. 29, 1890, and departed this life at the Yocom hospital in Chariton August 13, 1941, at the age of 50 years, 9 months and 14 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Laura Fern Klages, and five children: Leo, Lottie, Audrey, Viola and Perry. Also his mother, Mrs. Minnie Klages, of Chariton and six sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Charlotte Karn; Mrs. Rosa Sams; Mrs. Bertha Lane; Mrs. Wreatha Amos; and Mrs. Edna Corum, all of Chariton; Mrs. Minnie Vickroy, of Burlington; Slyvester Klages, of Chariton; and Vere Klages, of Washington. He is also survived by three grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away August 9, 1932, and one sister, and three brothers, who died in infancy.
Services were held at the Mt. Zion Baptist church near Oakley, at 2 p.m., August 15, conducted by Rev. Raymond Williamson, of Newbern, and burial was at Mt. Zion cemetery. Pallbearers were Clarence Amos, George Sams, C. D. Carion, Charles Durham, Clyde Durham and Palmer Mitchell.
