CYRUS PREVO
Cyrus Prevo was born Aug. 9, 1870 and passed away at the Yocom hospital Oct. 5, 1956 at the age of 86 years, one month and 27 days.
He came to Iowa with his parents, Joe and Mary Prevo, from Illinois. He has been a resident of Lucas county since that time and spent his life farming until retirement 13 years ago.
On Jan. 6, 1904 he was married to Verna E. Stierwalt. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive.
He is survived by his four children, Mrs. Marie Lang of Melcher, Mrs. Lula Ver Huel of Algona, Arthur of Chariton and Cyrus G. of Newton; three grandchildren, Gene and Ralph Lang of Knoxville and Sharon Lang of Melcher; two great-grandchildren, Darvin and Kathy of Knoxville.
He is also survived by five half-sisters, Mrs. Golda Adcock of Chariton, Mrs. Lula Vincent, Mrs. Lela Cunningham, Mrs. Myrtle Hoxie and Mrs. Beulah Cook, all of New York state and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and one brother.
Funeral services were conducted at the Miley chapel Sunday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. The Rev. J. Huber Dixon officiated. Interment was in the Mt. Zion cemetery near Oakley.
