JOSEPH PREVO
Joseph Prevo was born in the state of Vermont September 12, 1832, and died at his home in Chariton, Iowa April 13th, 1919, aged 87 years, 7 months.
While a young man he came to Illinois and there married his first wife, Mary Bennett. To this union were born five children, of whom three are yet living, Cyrus of Oakley, John Henry of Pacific, Mo., and Jeanette James of Twin Falls, Idaho.
He moved to Iowa in 1871. About twenty-four years ago he lost his first wife. Later, he married his second wife, Stella Arnold, and to this union were born five children, all living. They are Mrs. Goldie Adcock of Chariton, Lula, Lila, Myrtle and Beulah, of Fernwood, N. Y. He was married to Mrs. Mattie (VanGilder) White on February 26, 1914.
He professed salvation about three years ago and in his last days said that all was well with his soul, that he was ready to meet God.
He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, two sons and six daughters, besides a host of friends.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Spell, were held at the Nazarene church on Tuesday forenoon at 11 o'clock, after which the remains were taken to Mt. Zion cemetery for interment.
