Amy was probably born 2 Nov 1837, although a gravestone transcription says 1827. She was the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Boyer) Boyer. In the 1870 US Census, she was single, living with and looking after her father on his farm in Peters Township, Washington County. Her brother-in-law, David Higbee, reported that she married D. Louis Welch of Limestone, PA, but she died in 1874 according to her gravestone, so it appears that marriage was in the early 1870s, not long before her death.
