Life Story of Elmer Peery--Funeral services for Elmer Peery, 78, a longtime resident of the Galesburg and Monroe communities, were held Sunday at the Colfax Christian Church.
The Rev. Leon Lebuda of Perry conducted the services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
He died Saturday at the Rowely Memorial Masonic Home in Perry.
Survivors are his wife, Della; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Wyonne) Goodsell of Newton and Mrs. Richard (Elma) Hyndman of Ames; seven grand daughters; a grandson; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Peery, a farmer, also had worked for the Monroe Implement Store until retiring in 1970.
The son of John and Elizabeth Peery, he was born Jan. 3, 1901, near Galesburg.
He was married to Della Wade May 28, 1922, in Colfax, Iowa.
