He was born Feb. 19, 1921, son of Albert F. and Hattie (Stieber) Boose.
As a long time Sandusky area resident, he worked at Sandusky Ford Plant.
Besides his family, he enjoyed hunting and bowling, and later in life golf.
As a member of the U.S. Coast Guard in W.W. II, he served guarding the Atlantic coast and later became the only local crew member of the USS Sandusky patrolling the waters of the South Pacific.
Norbert is survived by his wife of 45 years Pat (Matter) Boose; a son Edward (Marlene) Boose of Huron; a daughter Judy (Fred) Hupp of Monroeville; and stepsons, David (Rhonda) Matter of North Fort Myers and James (Mimi) Matter of Norwalk. Four grandchildren also survive, Amy (C.J.) Lowery, of Huron, Andrew (Annette) Boose of Columbus, T Sgt. John (Nicole) Hupp, serving in Korea, and Gina (Angel) Bastardo of Monroeville. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding Norbert in death were his first wife Marilyn (Will) Boose in 1965; his parents; seven brothers and sisters; stepdaughter Cathy Aumend.
Private services will take place for immediate family members.
