Mr. Horrocks was born June 17, 1914, in Ogden, a son of Joseph and Effie Davis Horrocks.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
During World War II he served in the Army and received the Purple Heart in January 1943.
He had lived in Ogden and Layton the past six years and had been employed as a truck driver at the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot.
On Nov. !2, 1943, he was married to Mary Bringard in Morgan.
Surviving are his widow, six sons and two daughters, Dee Warrum Horrocks and William Kenneth Horrocks, California, George Owen Horrocks Jr., David Wayne Horrocks, Oliver Keith (Pete) Horrocks, Tracy Horrocks, Ruth Am Horrocks, all of Layton; Mrs. Jerry (Frankie) Monroe, Salt Lake City; six grandchildren, one brother and four sisters, William J. Horrocks, Mrs. William J. (Virl) Alexandar, Mrs. O. R. (Delores) Adams, all of Ogden; Mrs. Glen (Lena) Stanger, Marriott; Mrs. L. R. (Mildred) Ruggles, Fontana, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Myers Mortuary with Bishop Gayle A. Stevenson of the Layton Sixth Ward conducting. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until services. Burial in Ogden City Cemetery. Published in the Ogden Standard Examiner on 5 November 1963.
