OBITUARY
Funeral services for Fred Racette, who passed away at his home at 512 Saratoga Street Tuesday afternoon, January 7, at 3:30 o'clock after a years illness, were held from the Holy Redeemer Church Thursday, January 9. The Rev. R. N. Neudecker conducted the services. Fred Racette was born February 1, 1885 at Aurora, Kan. At the age of 12 he moved with his parents to Oregon and later to Wyoming. They moved to Minnesota, and settled on a farm near Green Valley, in 1903. In 1911 Mr. Racette was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ludwig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John N. Hirmer of Marshall. To this union were born three children, Alfred, Ernest and Veronica. His father, Paul Racette, preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his wife and three children; his mother, Mrs. Joe Bedore of Tracy; a stepdaughter, Veronica (Mrs. Frank Lens), seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. M. LeMoine of Tracy; and a brother, Henry Racette of Milroy. Interment was made in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry and George Savoie, Jerome Qunell and Henry Como, all of Marshall, Isadore Paradis of Tracy and Ed Ouellette of Cottonwood. Those from out-of-town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Racette of Milroy, and son, Virgil of Montevideo; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Racette, Jr., of Slayton; Mrs. Ed Maroney also of Milroy; Mr. and Mrs. George Como of Belview; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Compain of Morris; Mrs. Josephine LeMoine, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Wiggins, and Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Paradis and family of Tracy; Frank Hirmer and son, John, of Cottonwood; and Mr. and Mrs. William Savoie of Ivanhoe. Mr. Racette will be remembered long by his many relatives and friends as a kind and loving neighbor, always willing to help in any emergency.
