The daughter of Joachim Peters and Wilhelmine Mittlebuscher, Lena married a German immigrant named Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm "Henry" Albers on 10 Dec 1899 at Salem Lutheran Church in Black Jack, St. Louis County, Missouri.

Henry was a farmer in north St. Louis County, and they were the parents of 5 children. The Albers moved to St. Clair County, Illinois before 1905 and farmed there for more than 15 years.

Henry died in 1926.

Lena returned to north St. Louis County and worked as a housekeeper for the family of Joseph Desloge, Sr. and Anne Kennett (nee Farrar) Desloge. He was a descendant of the family for whom Firmin Desloge Hospital was named. Lena's daughter, Flora, also worked for the family.

At the time of her death due to colon cancer, Lena was 55 years, 4 months and 17 days old.

Lena was survived by 1 son, George Albers; 3 daughters, "Minnie" Hacker, Ella Lehr and Flora Peimann; 5 grandchildren; 1 half-brother; and 3 half-sisters.

In addition to her husband, Lena was preceded in death by her mother and father; and 1 son, Arthur Albers.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on the afternoon of 02 Mar 1932 at Beiderwieden South Side Funeral Home on Chippewa in St. Louis.

Lena was buried next to her husband.
