Dennis C. Hammer 83, Beech Grove, passed away November 1, 2009. He was born September 3, 1926 in Monroe County, KY to the late William and Locie (Page) Hammer. He married Maggie Cloyd on December 19, 1951 in Indianapolis, and she survives. Other survivors include his son Barry Neal Hammer of Beech Grove; brothers Herman Reed (Inell) Hammer of Tompkinsville, KY, Reggie M. (Geraldean) Hammer of Beech Grove, Harlie C. (Marcella) Hammer of Beech Grove; and Leon M. (Patricia) Hammer of Glascow, KY; and sister Evelyn (Wallace) Bowles of Louisville, KY. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Samuel, James, and Roy Hammer. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, November 2 in Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Services will be 1:00PM, Wednesday, November 4 in Strode Funeral Home, 204 Columbia Avenue, Tompkinsville, KY with visitation 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 3 at the funeral home in Tompkinsville. Interment will be in Monroe County Memorial Gardens, Tompkinsville, KY

Dennis Clyde Hammer, age 83, of Beech Grove, Indiana formerly of Monroe County, passed away on Sunday November 1, 2009.

He was born September 3, 1926 in Monroe County, KY to the late William and Locie (Page) Hammer. He married Maggie Cloyd on December 19, 1951 in Indianapolis.

He is survived by his wife Maggie Lee Cloyd Hammer of Beech Grove, IN.

One Son: Barry Neal Hammer of Beech Grove, IN.

Four Brothers: Herman Reed Hammer and wife Inell of Tompkinsville, Reggie M. Hammer and wife Geraldean of Beech Grove, IN, Harlie C. Hammer and wife Marcella of Beech Grove, IN, and Leon M. and wife Patricia of Glasgow.

One Sister: Evelyn Bowles and husband Wallace of Louisville, KY.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Samuel, James, and Truman.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday November 4, 2009 at 1:00PM at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with Burial in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
