HALE CENTER -- Funeral services for Harry Austin who died Friday morning at his home in Hale Center were held Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Hale Center First Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Joe Wilson, officiating. Rev. R.S. Watkins, Methodist pastor at Hale Center, and Rev. Taylor Smithee of Wayland College assisted with the service. Burial was made in the Hale Center Cemetery under direction of Fields-Hoen Funeral Service.

Mr. Austin is survived by his wife, Mrs. Verda Austin, and five children, all of Hale Center. He was a cousin of Mrs. E.E. Williams and Mrs. Eva L. Barnes of Plainview.

Pall bearers were: T.E. Wall, H.B. Elkins, Wesley Boone, Carroll Bird and Claude Boone.

Mr. Austin was born July 23, 1871 and had lived in Hale County most of his life. His father was the fourth county judge of Hale County.
