Maude VanMeer died February 28

Mrs. Maude VanMeer, daughter of William E. and Mary Lowe Stewart was born Jun 1, 1877 at Little Rock, Arkansas. She passed away February 28, 1965 at the Miller rest home in Osborne, at the age of 87 years and nine months.

She had lived in Beloit for several years before making her home with her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Johnson in Osborne, where she was lovingly cared for.

She was a loving and kind mother, always thinking of her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, F. A. VanMeer, also two sons, Fred Sellers and Charles Sellers.

Surviving are her four daughters, Mrs. June Johnson, Osborne; Mrs. Hazel Beam, Chanute; Mrs. Pearl Yarnell, Lucas; and Mrs. Gladys Steinhoff of Topeka; two sons, Walter Sellers, Boise, Idaho, and William Van Meer, with the United States Air Force, Hill Air Force Base, Layton, Utah; three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Hachenberg, Osborne, Mrs. Effie Watson, Beloit and Mrs. Ett VandeWater in California; two brothers, Pearl Stewart, Luray; Bert Stewart, Parkville, Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Flossie Sellers, Beloit, and Mrs. Neva Sellers, Abilene; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 2 at the McDonald funeral home in Beloit, with the Reverend Harold Hollis officiating. Mrs. Robert Petterson, soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. Maurice V. McDonald, organist. Bearers were Merle Yarnell, Cy Sidesinger, James Bartlett, Tom Johnson, Roland Sellers and Norman Jacobs. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery, Beloit.

Out of town relatives who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. Elden Sellers, St. Joe, Missouri; Earl Yarnell, Sidney, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Cy Sidesinger and Chad, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Albright, Manhattan; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Steinhoff, Topeka; Mrs. Loretta Wiesharr, Mr. and Mrs. James Bartlett, Mrs. Neva Sellers, Roland Sellers, Abilene; Mr. and Mrs. Murel Yarnell, Lucas; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Irvin, Towanda; Mr. and Mrs. Hazel Bean, Chanute; Mrs. Jane Biegart, Junction City; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Johnson, Gaylord; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jacobs, Mankato. Osborne relatives were Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Johnson and Jodi, Mrs. Joe Hachenberg and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Hook.
