James Holcomb/Holcombe was the son of John G Holcombe and Jane Lamson. James was married to Electa Eno 17 November 1808in Connecticut. Their children were Salana, William, Homer, Emily (wife of William Trimble), Lavinia Ann, Isaac, Francis, Carolina, Mary Jane and Harriett(Riney). John came to Muskimgum County, Ohio in 1820 with his wife and children Salina, William, Homer and Emily who were born in Connecticut. James and Electra were founding members of the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church and he was a farmer in Monroe Township. In 1870 James was living with his daughter Harriett Riney. James died in 1876 at the age of 89 and is buried at Otsego United Methodist Church Cemetery outside the Village of Otsego.
