Anna Magdalena Schwarz, daughter of immigrants Mathias Schwarz and Theresia Schmid from the former Abtsdorf, Leitomischl, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary (now Opatov, Svitavy, Pardubice, East Bohemia, Czech Republic), was born on November 1, 1895 in Albany, Stearns, Minnesota.

She married Elmer Burger, son of Anthony Burger and Mary Kurtenbach of Lincoln, Black Hawk, Iowa in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1937, and they lived out their lives there.
