Mrs. Cosette Scott Hauenstein, 72, of 6 Kenilworth Terrace, died at 7 a.m. Monday in an Evanston, Ill., hospital.

Born Aug. 15, 1900, in Auglaize County, she was the daughter of Clyde M. and Carrie Focht Scott. She married Eli A. Hauenstein, who died in 1949.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. David (Diane) Shanahan of Winnetka, Ill., two stepsons, John E. Hauenstein of North Hollywood, Calif., and Dean A. Hauenstein of Miami, Fla.; and three step-grandchildren.

A graduate of Defiance College, she was a retired Lima city school teacher and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was also a member of the University Women's Club, Trinity Chapter 16 of the Order of Eastern Star, Social Order of the Beauceant, Third Year Patron of Defiance College and National and Ohio Retired Teachers Associations.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Chiles and Sons - Laman Chapel of Memories, Rev. Fred Whitley officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
