Darrell Dewayne Bowen, owner of a residential construction company, died Tuesday at a hospital in Monroeville. He was 51.

Bowen, a lifelong resident of Monroe County, resided in Monroeville.

He attended First United Methodist Church of Monroeville and was a member of Frisco City United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Woodard Bowen of Monroeville; his mother, Bertha Bowen of Bay Minette; three daughters, Samantha Bowen and Amy Bowen, both of Orange Beach, and Sara Bowen of Monroeville; two stepdaughters, Missy Russell of Tuscaloosa and Stacy Kendrick of Fairhope; one brother, James Bowen of Nokomis, Ala.; one sister, Donna Badners of Bay Minette; and five grandchildren.

The service is set for 11 a.m. today at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home in Monroeville. Burial will be in Coleman Assembly of God Cemetery in the Wild Fork community.

Memorials may be made to the Southwest Alabama Community Cancer Center; the American Cancer Society; or First United Methodist Church of Monroeville.
