Mrs. Diane Woodard Bowen, age 64 of Monroeville, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Bowen was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and had lived most of her life in Monroe County. Mrs. Bowen retired from the Monroe County Board of Education where she worked in bookkeeping at Monroeville Junior High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monroeville. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Mark Woodard and Jimmy Doris Pate Woodard; her husbands, Gerald D. Boatner and Darrell Dewayne Bowen; her brother, Mark Ferrell Woodard and her granddaughter, Gracie McDaniel Reaves.
Survivors include her daughters, Melissa Boatner Pilkington of Tuscaloosa, Stacy Boatner Reaves and husband Grant of Camden, and Sara Bowen and husband Logan Tanner of Huntsville; her brother, Michael Watkins Woodard of Tuscaloosa; her sisters, Virginia Logan of Hamilton; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Monroeville with Rev. Francis Turner, III officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 19th from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in Wesley Hall at the church.
