He was a charter member of the Auburn Host Lions Club as well as a member of Eureka Lodge 16, Knights Templar of Auburn, Auburn 100F Lodge and Auburn Rebekah Lodge and an active member of the Methodist Church since 1909.

Son of Swedish immigrants. He was born in Idaho Springs, Colo. When the Dahlberg family moved to Auburn in 1909, he worked in the Mountain Quarry.
Dahlberg owned and operated the Johnson Hardware in Auburn between 1929 and 1952. He catered to the miners in the early days. He was well know in the mining industry.

After World War II, Dahlbert played a part in convincing California authorities to take over the operation of DeWitt Military Hospital as a state facility.

He helped plan the move of Placer College to the present Sierra College campus in Rocklin and was one of the founders of Placer Savings and Loan Association.

In his later years he took up oil painting as a hobby. He was also known in the community for the construction of a miniature castle made from 10 different types of stone gathered from as far away as Vermont.
