Katie Geneva Ballard was the daughter of James M. Ballard born VA and Susan A. Hensley born MO. Born in MO, Kate and her family traveled west and finally settled in the state of WA. However, an older sister of Katie, Ida, born 1858, married David Haynes and remained in MO. Kate Ballard was married twice: James Ransom, Lawrence Morgan. Date of birth and children of Mrs. Morgan were taken from the WA, King County, 1900 census: date of birth: April 1870; children: Jasper, Minnie, Ballard, and Edward. All Katie Morgan family material requires further research and input from family members.

MRS. LAWRENCE MORGAN
Funeral services for Mrs. Katie G. Morgan, 69 years old, of ... Parker Ct., will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday at the Bonney-Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeview. Mrs. Morgan, a resident of Seattle since 1891, died Tuesday. She was born in Missouri. She was the widow of Lawrence Morgan. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Claude Fisher, Burien; two sons, Ballard R. Ransom and Edward Morgan and a granddaughter, Mrs. Louis G. Hartman, all of Seattle.
