Mr. Akin died Tuesday, January 7, 1975 in the Muskogee General Hospital. Born December 14, 1900, in Cherokee County, Mr. Akin had lived in the Wagoner area where he was a carpenter. Pallbearers were Freeman Rosenthal, Lewis Mannon, Ira Russell, Fred Templeton, Robert Templeton and Joe Murdock.
Survivors include a son, Darrell of Wagoner; three daughters, Miss Wanda Akin of Wagoner, Mrs. Carmen Murdock and Mrs. Carmella Keagy, both of Tulsa; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Mannon and Mrs. Lula McCuan, both of Wagoner, and three grandchildren.
