He was born on February 4, 1921, at Randall, Arkansas, a son of the Late William Austin and Florence Rodgers Austin.
He was of the Baptist faith and was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Jean Hodges Austin; a son, Michael Austin of De Funiak Springs; a daughter, Sherry Henderson of Birmingham; a brother, Elmer Austin of Pine Bluff; a sister, Neoami Spillyards of Little Rock; three grand- children; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Rison by Buie Funeral Home at Rison.
